The Little Thief

inkwell, September 21, 2025

By Maanvi Singh (age 10)

Look, here’s the deal. If you don’t tell a single soul about this, I will give you a chocolate bar. Or a Jolly Rancher. Or whatever candy you like. Literally. I will send it to your home in a UPS truck. I promise. So, here we go. Imma just be pretty straight up with this. I am not really a  lawyer, I am one of the world’s most famous people for stealing something. Maybe not the world’s most famous person. But I’m not telling what I stole. Only if you give me my candy bar back. When I get it, I will tell you. Actually, I technically haven’t given you the candy bar yet. So you already gave me the candy bar! So I’ll tell you what I stole. I stole…I stole….On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t tell you. You know what? Whatever. I’ll tell you. I stole…I stole….Tell you what, maybe not. No. I’ll tell you. No, I won’t. Yes, I will. *Breath* I stole my neighbor’s Ferrari! I know! I’m a rebel! I should go to prison for my whole life and after! On second thought, I am the world’s most famous and worst and bad person ever! Actually, I’m gonna go to his house and apologize. But I’m not gonna give him the car. I want it.
